01Who this policy is from

This policy explains what GK Motors does with your personal information when you use this website, book a service, buy a part, or contact us.

GK Motors operates from Sheela Bypass, near New Railway Crossing, Jasbir Colony, Sector-5, Rohtak, Haryana 124001. We are the people responsible for the information described here, and we decide what happens to it.

If you only browse the site, we do not ask you for anything. Everything below applies from the point you create an account, make a booking, place an order, or send us a message.

02What we collect

We collect only what we need to do the job you asked for. In practice that falls into four groups.

• Account details — your name, email address, phone number, a password stored in hashed form, and a profile picture if you upload one. When you sign in with a one-time code, we hold that code briefly until it expires.
• Addresses — the pickup, drop and delivery addresses you save, including their latitude and longitude, so a driver can find you.
• Vehicle details — the make, model, year, fuel type and transmission of the car you book for, plus what you tell us is wrong with it and the service history that builds up with us.
• Booking, order and payment records — what you booked or bought, when, the quoted and final amounts, and the payment reference our payment provider returns.
• Messages — anything you send through the contact form or on WhatsApp, and our replies.

We also receive ordinary technical information that any website receives, such as your device type, browser and approximate location from your IP address. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

We do not collect or store your card number, UPI ID or bank details. Those go straight to our payment provider and never reach our servers — see "Who else sees your information" below.

03Why we collect it

Each piece of information has a specific job:

• To carry out the service or order you asked for, and to send you the estimate before we start work.
• To collect and return your car, which requires knowing where you are.
• To take payment and issue you an invoice.
• To keep a service history, so the next time your car comes in we know what was done last time.
• To handle an insurance claim on your behalf, where you have asked us to.
• To answer your questions and resolve complaints.
• To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not sell your information to anybody. We do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to target you with ads.

04Who else sees your information

We share only what a particular job requires, and only with:

• Razorpay, our payment provider, which processes your payment and holds your card or UPI details under its own privacy policy. We receive only a transaction reference and whether the payment succeeded.
• Our hosting and database providers, which store the site and its records on our behalf.
• Google Maps, when a map is displayed. Loading a map means Google sees that your browser requested it.
• Your insurer and its surveyor, but only for a claim you have specifically asked us to handle.
• A parts supplier or courier, where an item has to be ordered in or delivered to you.
• Anyone we are legally required to disclose to, such as a court, a tax authority or the police acting under proper authority.

That is the complete list. If it ever needs to grow, this page will be updated before the change takes effect.

05What is stored in your browser

The site keeps a few things on your own device rather than on our servers:

• A sign-in token, so you are not asked to log in on every page.
• Your basket, so it survives a refresh or an accidentally closed tab.
• A pincode you have entered, so prices and availability are right for your area next time.

These stay on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them, and you will simply be signed out and start with an empty basket. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

06How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as it is doing something useful, and then we delete it.

• Your account and its service history — for as long as your account is open, so we can see what was done to your car previously.
• Booking, order and invoice records — retained for the period Indian tax and accounting rules require.
• Contact form messages — around two years, unless they relate to an ongoing complaint.
• One-time sign-in codes — minutes. They expire and are discarded.

If you close your account we delete or anonymise what we are not legally obliged to keep.

07Your rights over your information

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to:

• Show you what we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete what we no longer need to keep.
• Stop using your details to contact you about offers, without affecting bookings you have already made.
• Nominate somebody to exercise these rights if you are unable to.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

08Keeping it safe

Passwords are stored hashed, never in a readable form. Traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted. Access to customer records is limited to the people at the workshop who need it to do their job.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something happens that puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires, rather than quietly hoping you do not notice.

09Children's information

This site is meant for adults booking work on their own vehicles. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we will remove them.

10Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top of it. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
